He grew up largely in Japan, Germany, and Okinawa while his parents taught for the Department of Defense and also served as missionaries. After attending OSU in Stillwater Oklahoma, he married Rebecca (Vaughan) Osterhout in 1978 and had 2 children, Kyle and Brittany.
David is proceeded in death by his parents Charles and Ila Osterhout and his brother Paul Osterhout. He is survived by son Kyle Osterhout and daughter Brittany Young, granddaughter Mia Sanchez, a grandson on the way, nephew Christian Osterhout, niece Candace Osterhout, and other extended family as well as his former wife Rebecca Osterhout.
David is remembered as a caring son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather who can finally rest from his battle with ALS, which has also claimed the lives of several other family members.
