

David Glenn Rickard, 50, of Katy passed away on September 17, 2016. David was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on September 19, 1965. He attended Abilene Christian University and then Oklahoma University, where he earned a law degree. Throughout his life, David was a thoughtful, quiet, and philosophical Christian man who loved his family and God. He also loved golfing, the OU Sooners, watching most any sport, debating politics and theology, and most of all, his family. He had a passion for music and could often be found watching music videos in his home office, drumming along on his desk. He is preceded in death by his niece Lauren Roach Hawthorne. He is survived by his wife Susan, his daughters Melissa Rickard and Jessica Rickard of Katy, his parents Darrel and Judy Rickard of Oklahoma City, his sister and brother-in-law Lisa and John Mincey of Edmond, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial service will be held at Cinco Ranch Church of Christ in Katy, Texas, at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 22, and a funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Mayfair Church of Christ in Oklahoma City on Saturday, September 24, followed by a burial at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in David’s name to the Lauren Elise Roach Hawthorne Memorial Scholarship Fund at Lubbock Christian University (Attn: LCU Advancement, 5601 19th Street, Lubbock TX 79407).
