

Donna was born in Houston, Texas on December 10, 1954, to the late Bennie Leon Demarco and Dollie Alice Demarco. She graduated from Sam Houston High School and received an Associate’s degree in nursing from Tyler Junior College, Tyler, Texas. She married Edwin Lee Arnold on August 22, 1981.
Prior to nursing, Donna graduated from the Houston Police Academy, Class 93, and worked as a police officer for the city of Houston. Donna had been assigned to the North Shepherd sub-station. In both of her professions, Donna was known as a dedicated employee who maintained a strict ethical code and practice. She had the ability to handle any situation while employed as a police officer. Fellow officers appreciated Donna’s dedication to duty, professional conduct, and knowledge.
As a nurse, Donna exhibited professionalism, outstanding nursing skills, and excellent critical thinking.
After their marriage, Donna and Ed relocated to Tyler, Texas where Donna raised their two children and Ed entered the oil and gas drilling business. In Tyler, both served the Smith County Sheriff’s Department Horse Unit in their spare time and focused on search and rescue missions.
Donna is survived by her loving husband, Ed; two children, Jennifer Arnold and Christopher Arnold; three grandchildren; sisters, Mary Weatherl and Janet Stovall; brother, Bennie Demarco and Louis Demarco; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation and rosary will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017, at 11:00a.m. at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd., Katy, Texas. A graveside service and interment will follow at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.
Family and friends are invited to refreshments following the graveside service at a location to be announced at the service.
