The Atayi Family in Houston, TX and Lome, Togo, the Asso family in Maryland, Johannesburg and Abidjan, the Seka, Hauhouot, Odi, Boni, Koman, Ambeu families in Abidjan and Adzope sadly lost on December 27th 2019, Euphrasie Henriette Asso- Atayi, born on 13 March, 1965 in Trechville, Cote d’Ivoire, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She touched the lives of so many people that will miss and fondly remember her, for a lifetime. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those that cherished and worked with her. She enjoyed giving back through her work, and within the community she grew up in, and within that she lived in now. Euphrasie was a graduate at the Lycée de jeunes filles de Bingerville in Cote d’Ivoire before moving to the USA to pursue a higher education in accounting and auditing. She received her MBA from Rice University and worked for Repsol, Oil & Gas Company for the past 5 years, and before that for Geico and Deloitte for more than 20 years combined. She was also a member of Certified Fraud Examiner. She lived in Silver Spring and Gaithersburg, Maryland, Fredericksburg, Virginia prior to Houston, Texas. She was never afraid, never held back, she was wildly ambitious, an achiever, and she lived life to the fullest. In its challenges, opportunities and triumphs – she embraced it all.
She leaves behind her loving husband and partner in life of more than 35 years, her two children George-David Atayi and Louis-Alexander Atayi and her mother Asso nee Achia Sopie Christine in Abidjan, her sisters, Odile Renee Asso-Martin in Laurel, MD, Paule France Anguibath Ndessomin in Johannesburg South Africa, Michelle Anic Nguessan Asso-Diaz in Paris, France, Catherine Berthe Asso in Abidjan, Kokoh Bernadette Nguessan-Asso in Abidjan, Christiane Asso, and brothers Hakawa John Augustin Asso of Clarksburg, MD, Hyappaud Augustin, in Abidjan and Hingoyot Franklin Asso in Abidjan.
Euphrasie’s entire family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the expression of support, love, concern, kindness shown to her, and to the family, during her long illness. The Atayi family can never repay every sentimental visit, each prayer, nor everyone that played a part in taking care of her during her last days. We are also grateful to Ms. Kouassi Adele for all the care and love in taking care of her until her last day. You were instrumental in ensuring she was comforted, and reassured, that her legacy will live on. May God bless and keep you.
The Atayi and Asso family would like to give a special thanks to Harbor Hospice and MD Anderson, doctors and staff that took great care of her in her final days of life.
Please join us as we pay her our last respects, and share your memories and stories of her. Please help us ensure that her dreams, kindness and aspirations, for her charity work in Ivory Coast continue in her memory, by making a donation and / or volunteering, Association des Anciennes du Lycee des Jeunes Filles de Bingerville, in Ivory Coast that she supported.
In loving memory of Euphrasie Henriette Asso- Atayi.
