Freddy M. Troncoso Jr., 44, passed away on August 29, 2026. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 27, 1981 and grew up in New York City. Freddy was always proud of where he came from and especially proud of his Dominican roots and culture.
Anyone who knew Freddy knew he was one of a kind. He was loving, funny, hardworking and outspoken. He had a great sense of humor, loved to joke around and could always find a way to make the people around him laugh. Freddy was honest and straightforward, but behind his strong personality was a big heart. He cared deeply about the people he loved and was someone family and friends knew they could depend on.
Family meant everything to Freddy. He met his wife and best friend, Melissa, when they were only 10 years old. They grew up one floor apart in the same apartment building in Queens, with Freddy on the second floor and Melissa on the third. They grew up together, became teenage sweethearts and went on to share nearly 32 years of life together. They built a home, raised their son Adrian and experienced so much of life side by side. Freddy loved being Adrian’s dad and was incredibly proud of his son.
Freddy worked hard and took pride in what he did. He spent more than 20 years working in telecommunications and became an Xfinity Field Service Manager. Most recently, he worked with Prestige Worldwide and ITG. He genuinely loved his job and enjoyed helping the technicians he worked with, sharing what he knew and watching them succeed. Many of the people he met through work became friends.
Outside of work, Freddy loved sports, cars and music. He was a New York sports fan all the way and loved the Yankees, Knicks and Giants. Baseball held a special place in his heart. He played when he was younger and continued playing softball as an adult.
Freddy also loved cars and took pride in what he drove. A good sound system was always a must because music was a big part of his life. His taste ranged from classic New York hip hop and freestyle to merengue and especially bachata. His love for music was just one of the many ways he stayed connected to both his New York upbringing and his Dominican roots.
Freddy was the beloved son of Eusebia Milagros Troncoso and the late Freddy M. Troncoso Sr. He was the older brother of Emilio Troncoso, Jessica Gutierrez and Fredlyn Troncoso. He leaves behind his wife and best friend, Melissa, his son Adrian, his mother, his siblings and many extended family members, friends and coworkers who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Freddy M. Troncoso Sr., along with other loved ones who went before him.
Freddy and his family shared a Christian faith and belief in Jesus Christ. Although saying goodbye to him here is incredibly painful, his family holds onto their faith and the belief that they will see him again.
There is no way to fit everything Freddy meant to the people who loved him into a few paragraphs. He will be remembered for his humor, his honesty, his loyalty, how hard he worked, his willingness to help others and most of all how much he loved his family.
Freddy was deeply loved and will be missed more than words can say.
Forever loved. Forever remembered.
