Gary “Paco” Huff was born in Oregon but found his true home — and his favorite people — in Texas. After serving as a medic in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, he built a life full of laughter, hard work, and genuine kindness.
Gary spent much of his career in appliance sales and service, where his humor, charm, and big smile could win anyone over. He was especially proud of the time he won a sales contest that sent him and Mary Elizabeth on an all-expenses-paid Caribbean cruise — and from that moment on, he was hooked. Cruising became one of his great joys in life.
He loved coaching kids in the Spring Branch community, guiding baseball and softball teams with endless patience and heart. But his greatest joy was his family — his wife, Elizabeth; his children, Anna and Chip; his mother-in-law, Mary; his grandchildren, Trinity, Jett, Hannah, Justin, Makayla, Sara, Cody, and Alissa; and his great-grandchildren, Cutler, Devendra, and Blair — all of whom lovingly called him “Paco.”
Gary was a man of simple pleasures: a turkey and cranberry sandwich, cheese enchiladas, peanut M&Ms, a cold Pepsi, a good western, a round of golf, or a day at the range with his shotguns. He never met a stranger, especially if they liked to laugh.
So here’s to Gary — to Paco. Raise a Pepsi, pour a tequila sunrise, or sip a Bailey’s coffee, and toast to a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and stories that will live on in all of us. Viva Paco.
