Beloved Husband and Father, George Hardin Hargrove passed away on January 28, 2024. A little over a month after the passing of his wife of 62 years, Valorie Francis Hargrove. He was 92 years old. George always said that he wanted to be with Valorie to make sure she was taken care of and did not want to leave her alone. His love and dedication were true, and he kept his promise. The words of his favorite poem by Robert Frost, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, that he recited until his final days, depicts this well.

George was born to Weldon and Emma Hargrove on January 17, 1932 in Mart, Texas. George lived in Houston, Texas for most of his life. After High School George enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Japan. On return, he enrolled at the University of Houston and graduated with a history major. Later, he married Valorie Francis Hargrove and had three children. George loved to read and tell stories and often recited his favorite poems.
