

Geraldine Sue Lofy, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully of natural causes, surrounded by her family. Born August 31st, 1951, and raised in Alaska and South Carolina, she embodied the spirit of both landscapes throughout her life.
Geraldine completed her undergraduate studies at the Medical University of South Carolina and dedicated her career to histology, making significant contributions to the field. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she was best known for her generosity, especially when it came to cooking large meals that brought family and friends together.
An avid hobbyist, Geraldine found joy in sewing, gardening, and creating beautiful flower arrangements. Her passion for nurturing was evident in all aspects of her life, particularly through her commitment to fostering children from 1987 to 2009.
Geraldine is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Lofy, whom she married on July 15, 1978, in South Carolina. She leaves behind her son, Joseph Lofy Jr.; her daughter-in-law, Teresa Lofy; and her treasured granddaughter, Stella Santos. Additionally, she is survived by her nephew, Craig Mack, and niece, Angela Alford. Geraldine will also be missed by her dogs, Sunny and Lacy.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her sister, Charlotte Mack, and her parents, Vernan and Edna Avey.
Her vibrant spirit and boundless love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life will be held on December 12th at 12:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home.
