

Gwen Williams was born Gwendolyn Mae Manning November 30, 1932, in Mandan, North Dakota to Carroll and Alice Manning.
After graduating school in Bismarck, North Dakota, she met a handsome Texan. After just 2 weeks of courting she married Jim Williams on August 16, 1952. Through 40 years of marriage, she moved some 49 times.
Gwen was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Roy Williams and her son, James (Andy) Williams. The joy of Gwen’s memory survives in her three daughters, Susan Tims of Heath, TX, Anne Prickette of Katy, TX and Karen Neely of Spicewood, TX and her daughter-in -law Kathleen Williams of Dallas, TX. Her four children adored their mother, the role model for a life best lived with love, tenderness, forgiveness and grace. She is also remembered by her 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Gwen’s passion was needlepoint. Her stitching for family and friends included rugs, pillows and chairs which will be heirlooms for generations to come.
Gwen cherished her dear friends in Midland, TX .
We are very blessed for the lovely people that shared in Gwen’s life and assisted with her care over the past 3 years, in particular Michelle Howard, Rhonda Williams, Netta Johnson and Erica Oakley who spent the last years dedicated to her care.
She peacefully passed away June 18, 2021, in Katy, TX. She is now with her Lord and Savior through
His mercy and grace.
A memorial service will be held for Gwen Williams in the Brazos Chapel of Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494 at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
