

James Louis Boggs, 70, lovingly known as “Jim or Grandpa”, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Jim was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on June 18, 1955 to his loving parents Don and Margaret. Jim was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, and eventually his career opportunities brought him to the great state of Texas.
Jim worked as a Bank Examiner/Federal Thrift Regulator in the Houston Field Office and was blessed to retire following 30 years of loyal service to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency of the United States of America in 2014.
Jim met his loving wife, Liz, in Katy, Texas and were married in 2008 creating their beautiful blended family. Jim lived a life full of devotion to faith, family, hard work, and music. As a man of deep faith and service, Jim was a proud and active member of WordServe Church, now named Union Chappel in Fulshear, TX. He was especially known for his faithful presence each Sunday morning preparing the coffee for our church members.
He is survived by his loving wife, Liz; his brother, Tom, and wife, Kathy; his brother, Bob, and wife Chris; his children Ambre Boggs, and husband Joshua Wooten; Aaron Boggs, and wife Gabi Boggs; Alyssa Boggs, and husband Michael Hoelscher; Joel Burton, and wife Mackenna Burton.
He was a super proud grandfather to Jack, Aiden, Ilana and Bradley.
Jim is remembered with love by his loving family, including numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who held a special place in his heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Margaret Boggs.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Jim’s church family, to the compassionate caregivers at The Delaney at Parkway Lakes, and to his medical profesional team, for all their support and dedication.
Jim’s legacy of faith, music, and service lives on in all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at Katy Funeral Home, located at 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494, on August 30, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A reception will follow at the same venue from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
James was a resident of Richmond, Texas.
