James Arthur Harvey, 81, passed away on June 20, 2026. He was born on August 24, 1944, in Oakland, Nebraska. In 1946, the family moved to Dade City, Florida, where he later graduated from Pasco High School in 1962.
James worked in construction, focusing on welding, until his retirement. Through years of steady work and practical skill, he built a life marked by reliability and purpose.
Outside of work, James found deep enjoyment in woodworking, fishing, and hunting; especially the quiet patience of sitting in a tree stand, waiting for a big buck. Even his favorite color, camouflage, reflected an appreciation for the outdoors and the simple comfort of time spent in nature.
James will be remembered most for helping people in need, offering support in ways that were sincere and quietly meaningful. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the family who carries his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Alice Harvey; his brothers, Dennis and Robert; and his son, Danny.
He is survived by his son, Todd Harvey; his brother, David Harvey; his sister, Nancy Remaklus; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
James’s absence leaves a profound space, but his presence will continue to be felt in the lives he shaped and the family he cherished.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
