

Janelle Schull Imm, 79, of Katy, Texas passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 after a battle with cancer and dementia. Janelle was born on July 6, 1944 to Richard Schull and Edna Fesseldt Schull in Mankato, MN. She graduated from Mapleton High School in 1961. In 1964, Janelle married John David Imm in St. Clair, MN. They soon moved to Dallas, Texas where they had two boys, David and Andy, returning to Minnesota where their daughter Susan was born. In 1977, they moved back to north Texas, settling in The Colony and Little Elm. During her time in north Texas, Janelle worked with her family at All Weather Products for many years, finishing her career at Wilsonart International. After John’s passing in 2007, Janelle relocated to Katy, Texas to be closer to Susan and her family and to help care for her grandson.
Janelle enjoyed crafting. She frequented garage sales and flea markets, often repurposing and up-cycling treasures. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, jewelry-making, and puzzles. When she wasn’t getting her hands dirty, she enjoyed bible study and spending time with friends at bingo. She loved making people laugh with her unique sense of humor and was always up for a good joke.
Janelle was preceded in death by her husband John Imm of 42 years, sisters Janice Westphal, Joan Lavitschke, and Carol More, sisters-in-law Trish Hopkins, Barbara Schroeder, Ruth Berry, Val Imm Bashour, brothers-in-law Alvis More, Ross Berry, Conn Birr and Fouad Balshour, and nephew Bob Berry.
She is survived by sister Ida Birr, brothers-in-law Willie Westphal and Dean Lavitschke, children David Imm (Lisa), Andrew Imm (Samantha), and Susan Steber (Brenden), grandchildren Joseph Steber and Abigail Imm and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd. Katy TX 77494 on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 1:00pm with a reception to follow.
