
Jann Scherbarth, born September 29, 1953, in Fairbury, Nebraska, left this world with her trademark smile and the same radiant spirit she brought to every day of her life. She was the daughter of Theadore (Ted) Scherbarth and Mary Ahl Scherbarth, and grew up in a warm, spirited household alongside her siblings.
Jann’s early years were filled with outdoor adventures, often hiking and exploring with friends, always curious and full of wonder. That energy and love of learning followed her throughout life. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Dallas and went on to graduate from South Texas College of Law. After passing the State Bar of Texas, she built a respected legal career spanning over three decades, known for her dedication, fairness, and deep compassion for others.
She shared her life with her beloved husband, Kendall Turner. Their partnership was full of joy, laughter, and a shared love for travel, music, and living life to the fullest.
Jann’s passions were as vibrant as her personality. She had a deep love for music of all kinds and never missed a chance to dance. She loved to travel, meet new people, and experience different cultures. A gifted conversationalist and natural connector, Jann had a unique ability to make people feel seen, heard, and valued.
One of her greatest gifts was her uplifting presence. Her smile lit up every room, and her positive spirit made even ordinary moments memorable. She lived with joy and intentional kindness, never missing a chance to encourage those around her. Her enthusiasm for life was matched only by her generosity of heart.
She is survived by her brother Don and sisters Judy, Nancy, and Lynn. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Bob.
Jann will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, strength, and a life lived beautifully and without hesitation.
