Julie Park

Julie Park, age 92, of Katy, Texas passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Julie Park was born in Korea and graduated high school there. In her early twenties she was a teacher in Korea. She designed and made clothes for her family. Later in her life, Julie was a successful business owner and held a hairstylist licence. Julie had many other talents such as cooking. She enjoyed making a multitude of delicious meals for guests and most importantly, her family. She also loved to gather with family and friends socializing while enjoying a good meal. Her chicken meal and her spaghetti were her specialties, but she cooked a variety of different foods. She also loved to have her green tea and black coffee as they were her favorites.

Julie loved to travel around the world experiencing the different cultures and cuisines they had to offer. She enjoyed reading, singing, watching old classic movies, and nature. Being a lover of nature, she planted an assortment of plants and colorful flowers. Julie also spent time exercising and staying active through swimming, walking on the treadmill, and using small weight machines.

Julie lived her whole life getting to know Jesus by reading the Bible many times over and in the last few months accepted Jesus. She proclaimed that Jesus is her Lord and savior. Julie was able to get closer to Jesus through prayers and readings from family.

She lived at Brookdale Memorial City Senior Living for over a decade where she taught the residents yoga and participated in many other group activities. During the last few years of her life, she lived at Veranda House Assisted Living. Julie is preceded in death by her parents Tae Sik Kwon, Hock Soon Park, her 3 brothers, Young Bak Kwon, Young Kuk Kwon, and Young Tak Kwon. Julie is survived by her son, Andrew Park, daughter-in-law Jennifer Park, grandsons, Ryan Park and Kevin Park, sisters, Young Joo Lee, Janice Oh, brother, Young Man Kwon, and many more family and friends.

A visitation for Julie will be held Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 14, 2023 at 1:30 PM at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494. A graveside service will occur Friday, April 14, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
