Karen Gesine Bailey

Karen had a passion for her work as a school crossing guard, where she wore different hats every morning to put a special touch on each child’s day. She was very involved at Second Baptist West, where she was a social activity organizer of “The Point”-a bible study class. Karen was also involved in the Optimist Club in her younger years. Giving back to others, planning activities, holidays and traveling with family were among her favorite things.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, Harry Dokell.

Karen is survived by her husband of 24 years, Ray Bailey; daughter, Jackie Wickstrand and her husband, Sonny; granddaughters, Heather and Stephanie Wickstrand; and other family and friends.

The Bailey and Wickstrand family would like to give a special thanks to Vantage Hospice for their care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Karen’s name.
