Born on August 19, 1945, in Houston, Texas, Ken was the son of Joseph and Media Judice. From an early age, he demonstrated a sharp intellect and a deep curiosity about the world—qualities that would guide him throughout his life. Known for his love of storytelling, he never missed a chance to share a tale from his life—often more than once.
As the first of his family to pursue higher education, Ken earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at the University of Houston. He continued his academic journey at South Texas College of Law, obtaining his Juris Doctor and laying the foundation for a distinguished legal career. Among his many professional accomplishments was his admission to the U.S. Supreme Court Bar in 1975.
In addition to his civilian accomplishments, Ken proudly served his country in the Army Reserve from 1970 to 1975, contributing his skills as an Intelligence Specialist during a pivotal time in American history and as a member of the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Detachment.
Ken's life was enriched by his many passions. A true enthusiast of classic automobiles, he found joy in building and showcasing hot rods at Houston’s AutoRama and other regional car shows and later restoring vintage cars to their former glory. His love for travel took him across the globe—whether skiing down snowy slopes, chasing bats off cliffs, or snorkeling through vibrant coral reefs. He remained a lifelong learner, always eager to explore new ideas and experiences. At home, he cherished time with his wife Paula and their many pets, who brought warmth and companionship into his life.
Ken is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Paula Judice; daughter, Jill Crouch; son, Grant Judice; and daughter-in-law, Amanda Judice; grandchildren, Garin Artzberger, Camryn and Cora Crouch, and Grant and Austin Judice.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Media Judice; brother, Elton Judice; and sister-in-law, Donna Judice.
In lieu of a traditional funeral service, the family will honor Ken’s life with a private celebration at a later time.
