Born on December 6, 1940, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Lowell pursued a life shaped by discipline, purpose, and steady determination. He attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
Lowell served seven and a half years in the United States Air Force, including service as a fighter pilot in Vietnam, and he also trained other pilots. He was deeply proud of his service, and his love of flying remained a defining thread throughout his life. During his years in uniform, he earned many medals. When family need called, he made the difficult decision to leave the Air Force to raise his two young sons as their mother became very ill—an act that reflected both his strength and his unwavering sense of responsibility.
In his professional life, Lowell brought the same drive and commitment to his work. He was employed by Foxboro and then spent 20 years with Honeywell, where he earned the “Best Sales” award along with several other honors. He later worked for five years with the Japanese company Yokogawa. Throughout these years, he was known as an exceptionally hardworking man—resilient, steady, and fully devoted to whatever task was in front of him.
In 1980, Lowell married Linda in Houston, Texas. Together they shared 45 years marked by love, laughter, and adventure.
Lowell’s happiest moments were often found in simple pleasures and good company: golfing, fishing, dancing, traveling, and attending parties. He enjoyed playing bridge and other card games and, by nature, loved to win. He also loved flying 105’s, a passion that spoke to the lasting place aviation held in his heart.
Lowell lived in Houston, Texas, and will be remembered with respect and gratitude for a life defined by service, perseverance, and deep devotion to family.
