Nikki was born to Xavier and Diane Lemond on September 13, 1976, in Houston, Texas. She was the youngest of three children.
One of her passions growing up was rescuing stray animals and people in need by bringing them into her parent’s home. She had a generous heart.
From age six, Nikki lived in Katy, attending Nottingham Country Elementary, Memorial Parkway Junior High, and Taylor High School. She attended HCCS as a Chancellor Scholar after which she studied at Texas A&M. Later she transferred to the University of Houston where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She was pursuing a Master’s degree there also.
Nikki accepted a job at Conoco Inc. in the Logistics department where she forged many lasting friendships. She enjoyed working there for several years before advancing her career with a move to Fluor.
Continuing her career advancement, she moved to Haliburton where she worked in their Logistics department until her passing.
Nikki was a loving mother and wife. She was happily married to her best friend with whom she shared many simple pleasures, such as watching the UFC fights and traveling. Most of all, Nikki enjoyed creating memories with her daughter.
Nikki is survived by her husband, Gavin Smith, her daughter, Kelsie, parents, Xavier and Diane Lemond, parents-in-law, James and Christine Smith, a sister, Lydia Lemond, a brother, Richard Lemond and wife Candice, a brother-in-law, Fraser Smith, four nieces, Erica, Erin, Kira, and Kaylynn and three nephews, Chad, Preston, and Aiden, and a host of relatives and friends both here and in Scotland.
Words cannot possibly express how special she was to her family and anyone fortunate enough to have known her. She was too young to leave us and will be sorely missed by all.
