Olga was born on March 25, 1953, in Novaja Kakhovka (Нова Каховка), Ukraine, and lived in Russia, Belarus, Canada, and US. She had a 40+ years career sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm as a software engineer, a teacher, and a bookkeeper, most recently working for PhotoSound Technologies Inc. in Houston, Texas.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from Moscow State University and a Certificate in Accounting from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (also known as SAIT Polytechnic), she continued to expand her knowledge in many directions professionally and through hobbies.
Olga was an avid gardener and photographer. She spent many happy hours researching the plants that don’t mind Houston summer heat, attempting to grow them, and photographing the results. Texas wildflowers and azaleas became dear to her heart and made many appearances on her camera. She loved travelling and learning the traditions of different cultures. She enjoyed sampling the cuisines of different nations. Living near Houston with such rich multinational restaurant scene enabled her to do so.
Olga is survived by two sisters, Lubov Bukova and Tatiana Afanasova, two daughters, Anya Kjerengtroen and Yanina Zholudz, three grandsons, Seth, Eric, and Andrew Kjerengtroen, as well as many loving extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service for Olga will be held on Wednesday, April 27th, 2022, at 11am (Central Standard Time) at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Boulevard, Katy, Texas 77494.
