

She was born in Beaumont, Texas, to Alease Smith and Sanders Smith Jr., who instilled in her the values of strength, kindness, and perseverance that she carried throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Britt Thomas and Michelle Thomas; her devoted son-in-law, Brian Jacobs; and her cherished grandson, Blake Jacobs, who brought her immense joy, laughter, and pride. Orelia’s family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Orelia had a deep love for reading and found great enjoyment in books throughout her life. She also enjoyed solving puzzles and watching television, especially science fiction. She loved dining out and spending quality time with her family, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.
For many years, Orelia dedicated her life to caring for others. As a compassionate and dependable caregiver, she made a meaningful difference in the lives of those she served. Her patience, gentle spirit, and unwavering support provided comfort to many, and her work was a true reflection of her generous heart.
Orelia will be remembered for her warmth, her quiet strength, and her ability to make others feel loved and cared for. Her legacy lives on through her family and all those whose lives she touched.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Memorial Service will be held at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, KATY, TX 77494, US, on March 28, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
