Patricia Ann Newberry was born November 18, 1940 in Poseyville, IN and passed away on April 1,2024 in Katy, TX. She graduated from New Harmony Indiana High School in 1958. Patricia married Michael Newberry on August 12, 1960 in Dallas, TX.
She was preceded in death by her son Scott Newberry and her husband Michael Newberry; parents Delmer and Inez Guffey of New Harmony, IN; brothers, Oliver Guffey of Scurry, TX, Eugene Guffey of Surprise, AZ, Richard Guffey of Crossville, IL, and Tom Guffey of Elberfeld, IN; sisters, Laura Gaines of Henderson, NC, Margaret Walther of Mt. Vernon, IN and Sue McElyea of Paris, TX.
She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Stone; son-in-law Billy Stone, grandson Michael Stone and wife Becky Stone and her great grandsons Waylon and William Stone; granddaughter Jessica Miller and husband Cody Miller and great granddaughter Alivia Miller. all of Katy, TX; sisters Fern East of Poseyville, IN; Nancy Mcintire of Houston, TX and Janet Mansell of Paris, TX.
In addition to being a housewife and mother, Patricia was employed in the banking profession for over 21 years, and in mirror/glass sales for 7 years both in the Dallas Metroplex. Her Civic involvement included Pack Leader for Cub Scouts and participation in Boy Scout Activities, Troop Leader for Brownies, the DeSoto High School Band Boosters Club, the American Business Women's Association, and the Community Care Club at Richland Chambers Lake. She was a stalwart supporter through participation and as an instructor in the Water Aerobics Program at Heritage Grand Subdivision, and she was a regular attender of Westland Baptist Church in Katy, Tx her home from 2000-2024.
Patricia was an avid angler and won several trophies during fishing tournaments while residing at Richland Chambers Lake during 1992-2000.
Among her hobbies, she excelled at solving crossword puzzles and playing Pinochle. However, her most enjoyable past-time was spent with her daughter and family, most especially her beloved great grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at Westland Baptist Church, 1407 W Grand Pkwy S, Katy, Tx 77494 on April 13th @ 11am. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
