Patrick Joseph Nevlud entered eternal life on August 30, 2026, in Houston, Texas after a long illness. Pat was born on October 12, 1942, in Cuero, Texas, the first child of Henrietta Bujnoch and Joseph J. Nevlud, Sr. His family then moved and he grew up in LaGrange and Victoria.
Pat was a 1960 graduate of St. Joseph High School, and a 1964 graduate from Texas A&I University in Kingsville and then began his business career. In 1965, Pat married his high school sweetheart, Carrol Wagner. Pat’s career led them to San Antonio, McAllen, Beaumont, and lastly, Katy. They had two children, Laura and Mark.
Pat had an incredible personality, and a charm that made everyone want to be around him. His storytelling and his humor were gifts that he shared generously with family and friends. Whenever you asked Pat, “How are you?” He always replied, “Best day of my life!” He truly was a wonderful son, husband, brother, father and granddaddy to his 3 grandchildren.
Pat was a very active member of St. Edith Stein Church in Katy, where he served as a Lector, and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Assembly number 2721. He was also a homebound Eucharistic Minister, visiting the sick and dying. He loved the opportunity to travel around the Houston area, caring for family and friends. Pat was also a lifetime member and past President of the KJT.
Pat was preceded in death by his wife, Carrol, his parents, Henrietta and Joe Nevlud, Sr., Carrol’s parents, Bertha and Eddie Wagner, his brother, Frank Nevlud, and his brother-in-law, Bobby Routh. He is survived by his daughter, Laura Shaw, his son, Mark, his grandchildren, Ethan, Peyton, and Lauren, his brothers, Joe Nevlud (Marilyn), Ed Nevlud (Carolyn), and Rev. Greg Nevlud, his sisters-in-law, Susan Nevlud and Linda Routh, and many cousins and extended family members.
Services will be celebrated on September 9, at St. Edith Stein in Katy. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by the prayer of the Rosary. The funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, followed by a reception in the parish hall. The interment will be at 2:30 pm in the Forest Park Southwest Cemetery in Richmond.
