Rhea June Crouse, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Houston, TX. June was the eighth of ten children born to John and Una Pearl Ford of Canyon Texas on February 10, 1937. Rhea June grew up in Canyon with the rest of the Ford kids and was an outstanding leader and athlete at Canyon High School. She was an outstanding athlete making All-District in Basketball and Volleyball as well as a cheerleader.
After graduating high school June eventually met and married her beloved Hank Crouse and they eventually settled in Houston, Texas where she called home for the next 54 years. Here they raised her two sons and established many lifelong friendships, too many to name. They were so near and dear to her heart.
June (Red) as she was known to so many was always quick with a glue gun to set up an impromptu wreath making party, a happy hour for team building she was your go to at all times. If you needed a potluck lunch set up at work June was the ringleader. June was always out-front volunteering her time and money, from epic New Years Eve parties, setting up walks for Alzheimer’s, delivering toys on Christmas Eve.
June’s true calling was that of Wife and Mother! She got her greatest joy standing beside Hank, raising her two sons, and building a life together that was so special until Hank’s death in 2003. Decorating her house at Christmas for the Grandkids was always so special for her and the kids.
Rhea June was proceeded in death by her Beloved Henry Nathan Crouse, Gary Ray Burgess (her first born son). Additionally, she was proceeded by John Guy and Una Pearl her dad and mom, her brothers, Monk, Murray, John Guy II and Donnie along with her sisters Tommie, Johnnie, Joanne, Bobbie and Patty.
She is survived by her two sons Bentley Burgess (Susan), Bradley Burgess (Sandy) her six (6) Grandchildren, Caroline Hudson Burgess, Kendall Henry (Kyle), Nathan Burgess, Carter Burgess (Maddy), Campbell Burgess, and Louise Freeman (Austin). Additionally, she was blessed with two Great Grandchildren, Kennedy, and Kip Henry.
HER SPRIRIT LIVES ON IN ALL OF US AND WE WILL ALWAYS BE GREATFULL THAT SHE HAS TOUCHED ALL OUR LIVES!
