I was four years old Uncle Sam and even then I remember being around Uncle Richard and laughing. He always tried to act serious but we all knew he was a complete tease and all heart. I remember my mom, Peggy, and all the wives just rolling their eyes as he spoke. I thank the lord for people like Richard and that I have a brother with that gift in Joel.
I would like to think Uncle Richard and his little brother Jimmy are acting up again in heaven.

In 1964, our band was going to perform it's first gig. We needed a microphone. We went to several places, but were turned down. Our last place to  try was Wilson Radio and TV. We meet Richard. Instead of renting us a mic. he said he would supply the entire sound system. If he liked us, he would become our manager, if we wanted him to. He liked us. The next week he brought his 16 year old sister to hear the band. It was Yvette.

I will miss the memories of Uncle Richard sitting with his brothers telling the stories of when they were young and liked to get in trouble. He was a wonderful, loving man. A great brother, uncle, husband and father. He is truly loved and dearly missed.

May God Bless the Family at this time, Uncle Richard was hoot to be around and always was interested in everyone. I loved him dearly and he will be missed. I loved hearing his stories and he always made me laugh. Life is hard for all of us, but Uncle Richard made it easier, when you were around him. I love you Uncle Richard, See you soon!

I love you Uncle Richard. Your heart was as big as your personality. You are an amazing man, with so many wonderful stories. I will always remember you as my "crazy" uncle. You brought so much joy to our family gatherings. I will miss you, but know I will see you again.

Tony and I just wanted to say how much Uncle Richard meant to us.  And how much he will be missed.  We already miss seeing him sit on Mom and Daddy's deck.  Aunt Ann and everybody we love you.

As a boy, no one made me feel like I mattered like Uncle Richard.  He made me feel valued and important.  Almost 50 now, I still see him through the eyes of that child.  I will always be grateful for the time he took with me; the interest and love he showed to me.  It's a much smaller world now without him. Thank you, Uncle Richard, for being you.

I grew up with Richard and loved him like a Brother. My life would have been a Bore had I not known him Columbia and Valley Park were our "Stomping Grounds" and we were the Kings of the Roost. Heaven will be livened up whith him there. Chester Duke

Dear Ann and Family, We love you all and pray that you are lifted up during this time of loss and sorrow.  Your family has touched so many people and Richard will be missed so much.  The stories of a rich childhood will live on through our children and grand children.  Richard was a good Big Brother to Jim and they will see each other again. The Wilson family is forever glued together by a tapestry of history, love and strength from determination to stay true to the family name and fight for each other. Richard was not just an employee to me, he was also a  caring Veteran, and also a "friend".  Richard had many friends at the VA Hospital, those he worked with and those Veterans that he helped.  Richard always went just that one extra step to help veterans with their claims and their medical bills.  Always caring, always joking, but most of all, being himself.  Gwen and I will always cherish the time knowing this wonderful man, but also the memories.  There is a special place in Heaven for Veterans and a special place for those who served in the U.S. Navy..  Richard is there and has been "piped aboard" and through the gates of Heaven.   Rest in Peace dear Richard and enjoy meeting all those who you helped that have gone before you.  Your rest has finally come.
