Robert Joseph Kot, age 73, passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2024. He was the loving husband of, Maureen (Santini) Kot. Together they shared 51 years of marriage. He was a resident of Houston, Texas.
Born on August 28, 1950 to Joseph Kot and Dorothy Kowalski Kot in Brooklyn, New York, he was raised in Mahwah, New Jersey where he attended Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, New Jersey, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Bob will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving dad, beloved brother, and true friend. His legacy will live on through his daughter, Jessica Richard and her husband, Matt Richard, his daughter, Allison Stamos and her husband, Matt Stamos, and his five beloved grandchildren, Abby, Sophie, Gage, Willson, and Maggie, and his sister, Marti Graham, her husband Todd, and their children Carolyn, Megan, and Patrick. Last but not least, he’s survived by his very “Bad Kitty” cat, Rita.
Bob Kot was our best guy. He was charismatic, dynamic, and funny. He was first and foremost, a family man. He loved his girls, his grandchildren, and his family so much. He was smart, a captain of his industry, a philosopher, a visionary, and well respected. He took risks like there was no tomorrow. He was a teacher to all those around him, from teaching his daughters calculus to regularly holding classes on how to properly wrap electrical cords and stack firewood.
Best of all, he was so damn funny, he was the first to make a joke and embarrassed his family often. While on a date at the Windows on the World with his wife and his boss, he gave the name “Jocko McNuts” for their reservation. Although we will miss him embarrassing us, we will also miss his depth, care, tenderness, and his eternal optimism. We know his grandkids have him in their hearts. Willson is the best of him, everything good in that boy is from our best guy. Maggie has her grandmother’s fire, which we know my dad loved so much.
So, there you go, Bob Kot. Rest easy, it’s okay – we love you!
