I wish to pay tribute to a fellow volunteer at HMWH. Sam was a fine gentleman and I knew him and Judith, both of whom were well respected and admired. Sam was always smiling and ready with a quip and kind words. My deepest sympathy to Judith and family. I will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss. Deacon Sam was one of my favorite people on the planet. His soft spoken spirit made him a safe haven for those of us who have suffered. He visited me in the hospital when I was going thru chemo. We discovered we had a lot in common. We laughed about things in life that God puts us through to make us stronger. If not for ourselves, for others. He was someone I looked for at Mass because each time I did he treated me like someone he missed. He always wanted to know what was going on and if I was ok. I saw him the week before he died and gave him a big hug. I told him to eat more ice cream because he was getting skinny. I had not clue he was struggling. If I had, I would not have let go of that hug. I am going to miss him greatly. God Speed Deacon Sam. Thank you for the love you showed me and for being a light in my time of darkness.

Sam Hull was one of our first and the greatest Houston Methodist West Hospital volunteers. I will always remember his warm welcome a kiss on the chic and a hug every time we visit. His contributions to our hospital and to our community have been amazing. He had a wonderful way to get the best version of you.

Thank you Sam for your love for people and your caring heart. You will be deeply missed.

Lots of love to his beautiful wife Judith and family.

Love,
Tere Jackson and the Houston Methodist West Hospital Community

My cousin Sam was an amazing man. Wise, caring, understanding, kind and he had a heart of gold. I'd never known him to raise his voice. Always the voice of reason. He was a true gentleman. His love knew no boundaries. I am grateful to have been blessed to have known such an incredible human being in my lifetime. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. Until we meet again my dear cousin. Love endures.
