

In 1946, when she was only 4 years old, her parents fled to the South when the North began to be heavily influenced by communism. In the beginning of the Korean War in 1950, the family fled further South to Daegoo where she spent her school age years.
On October 26, 1966 she married Mr. Kyong Soo Kwon whom she met while working as a nurse at the Seoul Department of Public Health and continued their faith journey attending SeMoonAn Presbyterian Church in Seoul.
In 1974, Mr. Kwon immigrated to Seattle Washington and the rest of the family immigrated to Baltimore, Maryland in 1981.
She began attending Bethel Presbyterian church and later was ordained as KwonSaNim at Korean Central Presbyterian Church of Baltimore.
In 2009 she relocated to Texas following her son Dr. Christopher Kwon and began attending Korean Central Presbyterian Church of Houston (KCPCH). She had often mentioned that continuing her faith journey at KCPCH under the ministry of Rev. JaeHo Yi, whom she adored and cherished, was a tremendous blessing.
On December 20, 2020 she went home to be with the Lord after a hard-fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
She has often remarked that through prayers and encouragements, the salvation and complete transformation of her husband to a God-fearing man, who grew up in a devout Buddhist family, was one of the greatest joys in her life.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce Kwon and grandchildren Thomas and Lindsay and her son Dr. Christopher Kwon, daughter in law Kijung Kwon and granddaughters Noel, Norah, and Brielle.
