Tribute:
The death of Engineer Steve Willams (Big Shot) came to us as a rude shock. We could not contemplate his sudden demise at a time when he should be relishing his various accomplishments. Steve was a very dependable ally and trusted friend whose presence radiated warmth and comfort.
Steve was a good family man, he loved his wife Dr Ngozi Williams very dearly and was a doting father to his children. He took pride in their various academic strides, successes and growth.
Steve was very hardworking and always changing the goal post for greater accomplishments. He had passion for academics and lifelong learning. He was a career Petroleum Engineer as well as an  entrepreneur and consultant.
He began his oil industry career with Core Laboratories and subsequently worked for leading multinational oil companies such as Aera, Devon, BG Group and Oilnet. He worked in the capacities of Petrophysical adviser and manager.
His career took him to different oil industry locations such as Bakersfield in California, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas and Saudi Arabia.
Steve had completed course work at University of Houston, Texas where he was pursuing a doctoral degree in Petroleum Engineering. He had previously obtained a Master’s in Petroleum Engineering from the same University.
He will be greatly missed and may his gentle soul rest on the bosom of our Lord, Amen

Hey old Steve,
As I’ve said several times since our last meeting about a month ago, your sudden departure has left many speechless. So difficult to comprehend!
Yet, RIP Steve. 
And here’s wishing your young family God’s protection and guidance over this irreparable loss.

Your departure has left a big vacuum in our hearts. You will be missed. You were gentle, meek, funny, and intelligent. 

We connected both as professional colleagues, and also as co-laborers in the service of the Lord. I benefited greatly from your wise counsel and friendship. 

In DIC men’s fellowship (MID), you served selflessly as an executive member. You willingly gave your talents and shared your resources. You were a great team member and a leader. 

May God comfort your wife, children and all the loved ones you left behind.

Rest in peace my dear brother (Steve).

Brother Steve, you slept so soon! You were one of a kind, your kind are so rare.  You were gentle and meek, you were such an encourager to many of us.

Your Citygate Christian Center,  Bakersfield, California, your church family missed you. You left a legacy behind . Before you and your family relocated from Bakersfield, you guys sowed generous for the work of the gospel.

Bro Steve, I never knew that the goodbye wishes at the Houston International Airport in January 2023 were going to be the last on earth.
The news of your death was a rude shock to me because we had some transactions yet unconcluded. But who am  I to question Almighty God.
Your kind and accommodating  disposition towards my family, especially my parents, is unprecedented and will not be forgotten in a hurry. Indeed, you were more than a brother-in-law.
My comfort is that life is not measured by the number of years spent on earth but by impact. You impacted all that came your way positively. You lived a worthy life and ran your christian race well as such. I have no fear that you will make  heaven.
Continue to rest in the Lord till we meet to part no more.

Please take heart. 

God has given and God has taken. 

God knows why it happened and allowed Steve to die.

Please accept my sincere condolence and may God ALMIGHTY give you the fortitude to bear the irreparable  lost in your life. 

When I had the confirmation from you , it pained me seriously and I never expected such a thing but all the same, you have to bear it and look onto God.

Below was the picture I took with Steve in 1993 during Corelab, Western Atlas presentation in SPE,  the Eko Meridian hotels in Victoria Island. 

Steve was my boss and intimate friend. 

We went to all exhibitions and presentations together during our days in Corelab,  Western Atlas. 

No other person went with him accept Bolaji and my self.

I missed him. 

He promised me of setting Corelab in Nigeria, West African subregion and Central Africa immediately I'm given my citizenship of America. 

Which I got by God's grace in July 12, 2023

Immediately,  I texted him but he could not answer. 

Then, I planned meeting him after finalizing my son's admission into Sam Houston State University. Who came in May 26 , 2023.

Honestly , it is a very big lost to me in my life.

I do not know how to bear it. 

He really encouraged me in life and I have those memories in my whatasap between both of us.

He was a brother, friend and my boss in Core analysis and beyond.

My regret is that he is no more.

And 

We did not set up Corelab together, and also to tap some of his knowledge. 

Big lost to me.

Well,  I give God the glory and praise. 

With him , all things are possible.

Memorial Tribute to Engr.Steve Williams

      The news of your miracleous death is very devastating and too difficult for me to grasp till this moment. It is really beyond my comprehension.i was with my son Steve a few months ago and little did I know that I will never set my eyes on you again nor hear your gentle voice calling "mo-mmy" as you fondly called me.  I am deeply saddened  as you quickly faded away like the stars of the morning.
 
Steve, you were my first son inlaw. I loved and embraced you as one of my biological sons. You were a God  fearing man, very intelligent, humble, respectful, accommodating, resourceful, loving and  caring. These qualities  set you apart and earned you a place in my heart. Indeed, you were a son to be proud of and an inlaw every parent will desire to have. It is sad that good things do not last long.

Well,death is a necessary end though it has done its worse.You did not live to enjoy your family you loved and cherished nor enjoy the fruits of the sacrifices you made towards your children's education and the spiritual values you instilled in them.Steve, you placed a premium on education and just completed your doctorate program in engineering at the university of Houston, Texas without enjoying the fruits of your hardwork.

You lived a committed Christian life. (D.I.C) Dominion International Center will miss your services and sacrifices. 

We all miss you so dearly,we loved you but God loves you more.We are comforted that you are in a better place.May the Lord strengthen and wipe away our tears as we go through this painful ordeal. Rest in perfect peace till meet and part no more .Adieu wonderful son.
