Tom was born on February 26, 1952, to Virginia (Manning) Lenhart and Charles Lenhart in Mason City, Iowa. He attended NIACC college in Mason City, Iowa. He graduated with an associate degree in electronics. In 1974, Tom married the love of his life, Coleen (Bork) Lenhart and moved to Houston. In his professional life he worked with medical equipment as a biomedical technician and entrepreneur. He and his wife raised three happy and successful children, Erica (Lenhart) Thornton, Brian Lenhart, and April (Lenhart) Evans.
Tom knew Jesus as his Lord and Savior. He was the most kind and gentle soul you could ever meet. He knew no strangers. He had a unique sense of humor, always ready to throw out a goofy joke or comment and get the room laughing. He always kept a positive attitude throughout life, in raising his children, and even the battle with his illness. He was truly the best Dad, Husband, Brother, and Papa anyone could ask for. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents and cousin Dave Lenhart. He is survived by his wife Coleen of 47 years, three children, two sons-in-law (Shawn Thornton and William Evans), two sisters Susan (Lenhart) Snyder and Linda (Lenhart) Halverson, and five grandchildren who he adored Ember Thornton, Sydney Thornton, Sawyer Thornton, Bennett Atwood, and Gray Atwood.
