February 24, 1931 – October 26, 2025
Ting Sin Go, lovingly known as Tony, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on February 24, 1931, in the Philippines, Tony was the youngest of six siblings, all of whom preceded him in death. From an early age, he displayed a deep love for music and a strong Christian faith. As a soloist and choir director, he was active in Grace Presbyterian Chinese Church in Manila, where his spiritual and musical gifts were nurtured.
In 1959, Tony came to the United States to pursue advanced graduate studies in Chemical Engineering at the University of Minnesota. In 1960, he married his longtime friend Caridad Yao, also from the Philippines. Together, they shared sixty-five years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, faith and family.
Tony had a distinguished career in the field of chemical engineering, retiring as Vice President at Baker Petrolite in 2000. In 1974, he was granted a U.S. patent for his innovation titled “Use of ethylene polyamines in distillation column to control corrosion.” His legacy continues through the “Ting Sin Go Friends of Alec Endowed Excellence Fund in Chemical Engineering” at the University of Texas at Austin, established in recognition of his lifelong contributions to the field.
Beyond his professional achievements, Tony was known for his dedication to Christian ministry and music. He served as a radio announcer, teacher and singer in the Christian Radio Ministry in Manila. He also directed choirs at Chinese churches in Minneapolis, St. Louis, Philadelphia and Houston, uplifting congregations through his leadership and voice.
Tony was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Caridad Go, and their children: Emily Go Chun (married to Willis), Anthony Go (married to Eva), and Timothy Go (married to Janice). He was a proud grandfather to Davis Chun (married to Jennifer), Travis Chun, Peyton Chun, Gabriella Go, Jessica Go, Brendan Go, Jonathan Go (married to Christy), and Caroline Go. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Avery and Austin Chun, children of Davis, and Joshua Go, son of Jonathan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Coctue Go and Chiaba Lim, and his siblings Juana Go, Eng Chan Go, Suite Go, Maria Angela Go, Bian Tee Go and Kuan Tee Go.
Tony lived a full and joyful life marked by his love for singing, traveling, teaching, inventing and spending time with loved ones. He enjoyed playing golf and ping-pong, and his warm presence brought joy to those around him. His life was a beautiful example of faith, generosity and perseverance.
His family is thankful for the love and support of friends and community during this time. They find comfort in knowing that Tony’s legacy will live on in the many lives he touched and the values he upheld.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Ting Sin’s Tony’s name to:
