Tony J. Rios, 73, of Galveston, Texas, a much-loved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on October 25, 2018. He had bravely confronted and fought cancer. He was born June 27, 1945 in Galveston,Tx and resided in Houston, Tx for 48 years at 809 Jackson Hill.
Tony is survived by his wife Frances of 49 years, daughters Laura Benavides and husband Abel, Diana Rios and boyfriend Nick, Veronica Rios and boyfriend Julio, grandchildren Gabrielle, Abel Marcus, Giselle, Aiden and Lorenzo, brothers Johnny and Jesse, sisters Andrea and Beatrice, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Tony was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and friend to everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Susie Rios, and his sisters Irene, Dolores, Lori, Janie and Lupe.
Tony loved sports, especially football and baseball, where his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He worked as a welder for 6 years, mechanic for 10 years and security for 15 years and retired soon after. In his retirement, he would enjoy taking day trips with the senior group from church. He also enjoyed being outdoors, staying active and was very handy. Tony was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, or whatever else people needed him for.
