Virginia Ruth Kendall

to her parents, Mr. Fidelus Breeding and Mrs. Ethel Louise Breeding. She became a Christian at an early age and united with Ebenezer Baptist Church in LaGrange. She attended Randolph Senior High School and graduated with the class of 1959.

She graduated from Prairie View A&M University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Education. She became a teacher and taught business at Randolph High School. After graduating and moving back to LaGrange, she met her future husband, William Simms Kendall. They married December 12, 1964.

Virginia taught public school in Victoria and Gonzales, Texas before her and her family moved back to Houston in 1968. She later received a Master of Education at Prairie View University, and continued to teach at public schools in the Houston Independent School District for the next twenty years. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1986, she continued to work part- time until her retirement due to disability a few years later.

In 1968, she joined Mount Hebron Baptist Church with her husband and family and was an active member until she could not drive anymore in the 1980s. In early 2000, she joined the Church Without Walls and attended whenever she could get a ride.

After she moved to Katy, Texas, to be nearer her son, she joined Living Word Outreach Church and Rev. Arlen Reese became her pastor.

Virginia was active in the Randolph High School Alumni Association and the Multiple Sclerosis Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, reading Christian books, and studying the Bible. She continued to be active doing physical therapy and taking her medications for multiple sclerosis. However, she continued to battle the illness and she departed this life on Monday, April 25, 2016.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fidelus Breeding and Ethel Louise Breeding; her brother, Edward Earl Breeding; her husband, Dr. William Simms Kendall; and her son, Keith Lamont Kendall.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving son Dr. Kevin E. Kendall, daughter-in-law Ruth Kendall, and granddaughter Kisseyme Kendall; her brother, Raymond Breeding and sister-in-law
