Vivian Ducote Lemoine, age 99, was born October 18, 1915, in Plaucheville, Louisiana, to John Ernest and Elma Duplechain Ducote. She passed away January 22, 2015, in Katy, Texas. Ms. Lemoine moved to Port Arthur, Texas, in 1940, where she resided until 1982. Following the loss of her husband, Fred Peter Lemoine, she moved to Katy, Texas.
A loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother, she was known for always putting others before her. She was a talented seamstress, loved flowers and enjoyed working in her garden. Ms. Lemoine was a devout Catholic; a member of St. James Catholic Church, she later transferred her membership to St. Catherine's Catholic Church. She was employed for many years by the Port Arthur Police Department as a school crossing guard.
Ms. Lemoine was preceded in death by her parents, John Ernest and Elma Duplechain Ducote; husband, Fred Peter Lemoine (1976) and son, Jerome Glenn Lemoine (1999). She is survived by daughters, Nell Lemoine Budwine and Anna Lemoine Gray and husband, Donald; son, Michael Lemoine and wife, Jackie; (12) grandchildren; (12) great-grandchildren and (3) great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, January 26, beginning at 9:15 in the morning, in the Sanctuary of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, 5356 11th Street, Katy, Texas. Recitation of the Rosary will begin at 9:45AM followed by the Funeral Liturgy. Father Dat Hoang, Celebrant. Graveside services will be at 3:00PM in Calvary Cemetery, Port Arthur, Texas. Father David Placette, Celebrant.
In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family offers the option of Memorials in Ms. Lemoine's name to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
