Al enlisted in the United States Military in 1957 where he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Al continued his service in 1962 by serving the city of Irving, Texas working for the Police Department. In 1970 he was promoted to the Treasury Department. While at the Treasury Department he worked for the newly created DEA and eventually worked for Customs as the Station Supervisor. In 1991 Al retired after many years of hard work as Senior Special Agent. To say he was devoted to his work would be an understatement. He was proud to serve this Country and local community.
When you didn't find Al working you could probably find him riding his motorcycles and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Al would always make sure to have M&M's and chocolate milk on hand at the house to share with anyone who came to visit.
Al is preceded in death by his parents Douglas Moran Gammon and Mary Evelyn (Ratliff) Gammon.
Those left with cherished memories are his two children Alton Douglas Gammon Jr. and wife Shelly and Danny Ray Gammon and wife Janice ; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Al was a man who represented strong character, good morals and one who loved his family very much.
