

Betty Lou Derryberry went to her Heavenly home on November 14, 2015. She was born August 13, 1936 to Miles and Beulah Hodgens in Savanna, Oklahoma. She married Earnest Ray Derryberry, October 18, 1959 in Kiowa, Oklahoma. Betty was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and served him for almost 50 years. She was dedicated to the Lord and served him however she could. She loved many young people as her own. She always had an extra place at her table and welcomed many into her home. She loved children and was often referred to as a second Mom and Grandma. Betty used her talent of sewing and crocheting to make dresses, crocheted towels and other sewing projects she thought would bless others. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her face lit up when she talked about them. She was delighted when her first great grandchild was born and bragged about the other great grandchildren who followed. They were truly the apple of her eye. Betty was preceded in death by husband Earnest Ray Derryberry, Father – Miles Hodgens, Mother – Beulah Hodgens, Brothers - Ralph Hames and Miles Ray Hodgens, Sister – Wanda Mansell, Son-in-law - Steve Wallace. She is survived by brother Delbert Hames and sister-in-law Frances of Dallas, and sister-in-law Betty Derryberry of Calera, OK.; four daughters Katrina Wilkins and husband Keith of Forney, Melanie Schmidt and husband John of Terrell, Denise Wallace-Spurlock and husband Gary of Red Oak, and Natalie Wilson and husband Donny of Kaufman; 17 Grandchildren - Andrew Sean, Ashley, Brandon, Allison, Dustin, Gavin, Ryan, Jonathan, Elizabeth, Andrew Stephen, Stephanie, Shayla, Richard, Kaitlyn, Jeremy, Austin and Tyler; 8 great grandchildren – Henry, Emorie, Haylee, Braxton, Kason, Kambree, Aiden, and Ashton as well as many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
