

He was born in Keene, NH, February 14, 1953, the son of Roger R. and Flora R. (Boccia) Demarais. He grew up in Troy, NH, moving to Keene when he was in high school.
He was a 1971 graduate of Keene High School and the New Hampshire College in Manchester, NH.
Mr. Desmarais worked for a few years at this uncle’s store, the former Boccia and Grout Shoe Store in Keene. He also worked for H.L. White Movers in Keene, and for the past 27 years in the physical plant office at Keene State College. While at Keene State College, he was a big athletic fan, never missing a game. Colleagues and visitors delighted in trying to beat the twenty-question entertainment trivia questions he posted that brought out smiles and laughter. He also ran a fantasy baseball league at the college for over twenty years. He was a member of the Beth-El Bible Church in Surry.
He enjoyed most spectator sports as well as playing tennis, racquet ball and softball. He also enjoyed reading and writing for personal amusement. He enjoyed the movie theater and James Bond books, classical music, flavored coffees and the countryside in the fall on his annual leaf peeping tour. He took pride in his rock collection and attended the Gilsum Rock Swap each year, delighting in showing off his newest gems to friends. He also collected baseball cards and eclectic biers. He loved cats and spent one day a week at the Monadnock Humane Society, giving and receiving unconditional love.
Survivors included several cousins.
Private funeral services and burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Keene, will be in the spring.
