Alan K. Swift

He was born in Paris, France on January 15, 1957, the son of Kenneth and Shirley (Washer) Swift. He was a 1975 graduate of Keene High School. He proudly served our Nation as a member of the United States Army. A Military Police Officer, he was stationed in Germany, Ft. Carson CO, and Ft. Leavenworth, KS. On October 9, 1976, he married the love of his life and his high school sweetheart: Jane M. LaCoon. For more than thirty years, he worked for Hubbard Farms, where he worked in many departments and finally worked as Assistant Supervisor.

Alan loved to be surrounded by those that he loved: his grandchildren were his biggest joy and he was always so happy to spend quality time with them. He enjoyed being surrounded by nature as well: whether he was hunting, trapping or simply planting sunflowers in Jane’s flower garden, he was most at home outdoors. He was a member of the Fish and Game Club and Range in Sullivan, NH, and enjoyed the peace and solitude that he found when he went there. Although he was a very private person, he was always ready for time with his family and spending time around the home that he and Jane had built together. His second greatest passion was football and the Dallas Cowboy’s, which he shared with his family.

He is survived by his wife: Jane M. Swift of Marlborough, NH, his daughter: Melissa Thomas and her husband Eric of Fall Creek, OR, his son: Jason Swift and his wife Patricia of Munsonville, NH, four grandchildren: Taylor Swift, Rylee Swift, Sydney Swift and Zachary Thomas, his father: Kenneth Swift of Keene, NH, his mother-in-law: Joan LaCoon of Jaffrey, NH, two sisters: Nancy Clark and her husband Warren of Keene and Jeanne Crocker and her husband Brad of Keene, two brothers: David Swift and his wife Tammy of Ackworth, NH, and Gregg Swift and his wife Leslie of Keene, two sisters-in-law: Cathy Lawlor and her husband Pete of Walpole and Susan Ellis and her husband Jeff of Swanzey, his brother-in-law: Peter LaCoon of Marlborough and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is predeceased by his mother: Shirley Swift and his father-in-law: Frank LaCoon.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at 11am at the Monadnock Covenant Church, Base Hill Road, Keene, NH. Burial will follow in the Monadnock View Cemetery, Park Ave, Keene, NH. Family and friends are invited to call on the family, Monday, July 20, 2015, at the Foley Funeral Home , 49 Court Street, Keene, NH from 5 to 7pm.
