

She was born in Gardner, MA on May 30, 1940, the daughter of Theron N. and Ruth T. (Dorr) Champney. Alexandra grew up in Jaffrey, NH and was a graduate of Conant High School.
Alexandra proudly served her country in the US Navy, enlisting in September 1958 and training at the Naval Training Center in Bainbridge, CT. While serving in the Navy, she met her future husband, Daniel, when they were assigned together in Brooklyn, NY. They married on October 9, 1959.
She worked for over thirty years in retail sales with the former Bradlees Department Store in Keene and later with Rite Aid.
Alexandra loved spending time with her children, 13 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She was very supportive of all their interests. She enjoyed several different genres of music and caring for her house plants. She was also an avid fan of the Boston Bruins.
She will be greatly missed by many, especially her children: daughter Eva DeSalvo of Gainesville, FL, sons Noel of San Antonio, TX, Paul of Swanzey, NH, and also daughters Mary Clancy of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Kathryn LaBelle of Swanzey, NH. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Daniel, on February 5, 2024, and a brother, Leigh in 2017.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Alexandra and Daniel on Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial with committal prayers and Navy honors will be bestowed on Alexandra and Daniel at the St. Joseph Cemetery, Lower Main Street, Keene.
