Alfred J. Gero Jr.

He was born August 11, 1951, in Brattleboro, Vermont, the son of Alfred J. and Pauline (Johnson) Gero, Sr. He was a 1969 Graduate of Brattleboro High School. On January 24, 2007 he married the love of his life: Cindy T. Partridge.

For more than thirty years Butch devoted his life to the protection of the community in which he lived by serving on the Hinsdale Police Department and the Police Department in Winchester, NH. He also worked for Markem in Keene. He was a very hard-working man who put himself into his work 100%, and then some. If he wasn’t busy working, he was probably spending time with his children, his grandchildren, or his multitude of friends: hunting or doing something outside. He was an animal lover and loved all animals especially his dogs: Moose and Butch and his cat, Smokey.

He is survived by his wife: Cindy Gero of Winchester, NH, two daughters: Cassie L. Herrick and her husband Ben of Swanzey, NH and Serena N. Miller and her husband Jeffrey of Greenville, PE., his son: James B. Gero, of Troy, NH, his step-daughter: Shannon M Minor and her companion, Dwayne Rector of Winchester, NH, eight grandchildren: Devon, Alexis, Austin, Autumn, Caidyn, Lauren, Shailer and Laceyn, two sisters: Joy Bellville of Gilford, VT and Ann Kristolaitis and her husband Arnold of Winchester, NH, two brothers: Henry Gero and his wife Ellen of Hinsdale, NH and Paul Gero and his companion, Norma Arsenault of Brattleboro, VT., his brother-in-law: Michael C. Partridge and his wife Sylvia of Athens, GA., and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother: Dolph Gero, his sister: Kathryn Taylor, and his nephew: Derek Kristolaitis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, 47 Walnut Street, Brattleboro, Vermont, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11:30am. Family and friends are invited to call on the family, Friday, March 13, 2015, from 5 to 7pm, at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH.
