

She was born in Winchester, NH, February 4, 1921, the daughter of Adolph Mecheski and Gladys (Ruskowski) both from Warsaw, Poland.
She attended schools in Winchester and graduated from Winchester High School in 1939. She married her high school sweetheart, Gordon L. Phillips, of Winchester, in the St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Ashuelot, NH on June 27, 1942. They were married for 55 years when he passed away in 1997.
She worked for many years at MPB, retiring in 1983.
Mrs. Phillips had been a member of Keene Emblem Club #24 for 49 years. She liked to crochet, garden, dance the Polka, play Bingo and cards. She and her husband loved to travel and she collected plates from all the United States she visited. She was an avid Red Sox fan, but her favorite past time was spending time with her family.
She and her husband wintered in Florida for several years prior to his death where she learned to play shuffleboard and loved to ride her big three-wheel bike.
She was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Constance Furlone (George) of Keene, Donna Phillips (Frank Grant) of Fort Myers, Florida and Janet Phillips of Springfield, Oregon, eight grand children, thirteen great grand children and 1 great great grand child; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her only son, Gordon Richard Phillips in 2001, her parents, her 3 sisters and her 4 brothers.
Calling hours will be at the Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St. in Keene on Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial at St Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church will be Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Winchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street #104, Manchester, NH 03101 or the American Cancer Society, 2 Commerce Dr., Suite 110, Bedford, NH 03110.
