Anita was born on September 25, 1937, in Winchester, MA, to Chester and Alice McElhiney.
In 1971, on her birthday, she exchanged wedding vows with Robert J. Hall and moved to Keene where she has lived for the last 55 years.
Anita is survived by her siblings, Mary Lockhart and her husband Nelson of Billerica, MA, and Chester E. McElhiney, Jr and his wife Jane of Medford, MA; stepdaughter Kimberly Richmond and her husband Randy of Gilsum, NH; several nieces and nephews and many cousins. Anita was predeceased by her parents, and her husband, Robert.
Anita’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Covenant Living, Trusted Choice Eldercare, Home Healthcare, Hospice & Community Services, her providers at Cheshire Medical Center, Jane Ballou, Maegan Williams and Rachel Adair for the care and compassion shown to Anita.
In keeping with Anita's wishes, a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 11:00am in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene, NH. Burial with committal prayers will follow the funeral mass in the Centennial Cemetery, Centennial Road, Gilsum, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry, c/o St. Bernard Church, 173 Main St., Keene, NH 03431. Anita never wanted anyone to be hungry.
