She was born in Giessen, Germany, June 15, 1948, the daughter of Melbourn A. and Olga A. (Burlak) Tuten.
A resident of Oakland, California for many years, Mrs. Tuten-Rutter worked as a waitress and in hotel services for many years. She moved to the area in 2005 to be near her daughter, residing in Winchester, then Keene, returning to Winchester.
She enjoyed playing the guitar and dancing. She also enjoyed sewing and was an accomplished artist, sketching many beautiful pictures.
Survivors include her daughter, Tina M. Connor of Winchester; a son, Jose C. Hernandez, III of Winchester; a grandson; a granddaughter; a great-granddaughter; a sister, Marie Fields of Emeryville, CA, and a nephew.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
The Foley Funeral Home of Keene is assisting the family with the arrangements.
