Anne May Hubbard

Anne M. (Philbrick) Hubbard, 74, a resident of Swanzey, NH and life-long resident of the Monadnock Region, passed away peacefully, Sunday, February 15, 2015, at the Applewood Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, NH, following a long courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Keene on May 28, 1940, the daughter of Perley and Viola (Richardson) Philbrick. On May 4, 1957 she married the love of her life, Howard “Bill” Hubbard. For many years Anne had her own cleaning business.

Anne lived life to the fullest. She was very devoted to her family and friends. She also enjoyed working in her garden, growing a variety of beautiful flowers. She was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed watching Red Socks Baseball. She also liked watching NASCAR. Anne was also a lover of animals and would spend extra time to look after the birds which were in her yard.

She is survived by her husband: Howard “Bill” Hubbard, Sr. of Swanzey, her son: Howard “Billy” Hubbard, Jr. and his wife Juanita of Keene, two daughters: Cheryl Elliott of Alstead and Darlene Hubbard of Swanzey, six grandchildren: Sara Snowling and her husband Jeff, Allison Hubbard, Emily Hubbard, Kate Hubbard, Charles Elliott and Gretchen Elliott, two great-grandchildren: Mia and Brynn Snowling, her sister: Nancy Howe of Vernon, VT, three brothers: Perley Philbrick of Keene, Franklin Philbrick and his wife Donna of Sullivan and Arthur Philbrick and his wife Shirley of Chesterfield, her brother-in-law: Alvin B. Aman, Jr. and his husband John of San Diego, CA. and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is predeceased by her two brothers: John Donavan and Kenneth Philbrick.

Family and friends are invited to call on the family from 4 to 6pm at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene, NH on Friday, February 20, 2015. There will be a time of remembrance at 6pm. Burial will be held in the Spring.
