Archibald Pat Toye Patterson

He was born on August 10, 1923, in Yonkers, NY, the son of Archibald T. and Margaret (Fortune) Patterson Sr..

Mr. Patterson graduated from high school in Yonkers and joined the US Navy in 1942. He served in both the Asiatic Pacific Theater and European African Middle Eastern Theater before being honorably discharged in 1946. He went on to graduate from Columbia University with a degree in Business Administration.

He married Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Blackwell on September 12th, 1953 in Princeton, NJ.

He worked for 33 years in Commercial Lines Underwriting with Liberty Mutual Insurance, retiring in 1985 from their Home Office in Boston as Director of Field Operations.

Mr. Patterson enjoyed volunteering his time at the Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA and for Cheshire Medical Center, here in Keene. In addition, he volunteered at the Monad-nock Humane Society. He was a regular attender at the Grace Community Evangelical Free Church in Spofford.

His family remembers him as being sharp minded and witty; a humble warrior from “the greatest generation”.

He is survived by his son Scott Patterson, and wife Keri, of Alstead and his daughter Su-sanne Patterson of Belmont, MA. His wife Betty Patterson, and brother Bill Patterson, both predeceased him.

A private graveside service will be held for Mr. Patterson at the VA Cemetery in Bourne, MA. Fletcher Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 33 Marlboro St., Keene, NH is assisting with the arrangements. (www.fletcherfuneralhome.com)
