She was born in Marlborough, NH, December 29, 1937, the daughter of Albert H. and Dora M. (Richards) Stone.
She grew up in Marlborough, later moving to Keene where she resided for twenty-seven years. Miss Stone worked for over twenty years at New Hope New Horizons in Keene. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Marlborough and later St. Bernard Church in Keene.
She was an avid bingo player and also enjoyed playing pokeno. She was also an avid puzzle maker, something she took great pleasure in doing along with the staff at Maplewood. She was a member of the Keene Senior Center and enjoyed participating in many of their trips. For many years, Miss Stone participated in the Special Olympics and was the recipient of many medals.
She is survived by a sister, Rose M. Ferranti, of Marlborough; a brother, David O. Stone of Dublin, NH; her nieces and nephews, Robert Ferranti, David Ferranti, Dean Ferranti, Lisa Heagney, Cynthia Woods, Albert H. Stone, III, Mark Stone, Sean Stone, Kimberly Willard, and David Stone, Jr. She was predeceased by a brother, Albert H. Stone, Jr.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, off Ling Street, Marlborough. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 9:30AM to 10:30AM at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Miss Stone’s memory to the Resident Activity Fund c/o Maplewood Nursing Home, 201 River Road, Westmoreland, NH 03467.
