She was born on October 17, 1930, in Walkern, Hertfordshire, England, the daughter of Noah and Beatrice Florence (Canfield) Clements. Her father was the gardener for the Vicar. When the Vicar's parish changed to Fairford, Gloucestershire, England, the family relocated as well per request of the vicar to keep his gardener. There she attended and completed studies at Cirencester School.
On February 16, 1952 she married Norbert E. Patenaude, Jr, who was in the US Army stationed at Fairford AFB. In 1952, they returned to his home in Ashuelot, NH, eventually settling in Keene, in 1955.
She was employed at various companies in the Keene area over the last 50 years, including: OK Fairbanks Grocery, AE Martell & Co, MPB Corporation, and after her retirement; at HCS, and Residential Resources as a Home health aide. Nothing gave her more pleasure than as a home health aide as this allowed her to fully live her life purpose - in serving others. Everyone who met her recognized the patient, tolerant, nonjudgmental little lady who offered unconditional love and service.
She was an avid gardener, having learned from her father. She was a long-time active member of the Women of the Moose, involved in all fundraising and other activities.
