Born Beverly Jean Arrington in Greenfield, MA, on November 13, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Doris and Paul Arrington of Brattleboro, VT. Bev graduated from Brattleboro Union High School in 1964 with honors.
In 1965, Bev married her lifelong partner, Harry Power. Together, they shared 61 years of marriage, building a life filled with family and entrepreneurship. In 1973, they moved to Stoddard, NH, where they owned and operated several businesses, most notably Pitcher Mountain Realtors. Bev was a dedicated Realtor for 45 years, serving her community with integrity. She also served on the Stoddard Zoning Board of Adjustment and was its chair for many years.
Bev was remarkably talented and artistic. She expressed her creativity in many forms: painting, baking, knitting, and crafting intricate stained glass. Every corner of her house highlighted her personal touches. Her artistic mind also bloomed outdoors with vibrant flowers and endless vegetable gardens. Inside, she always had plants growing under heat lamps. When Harry was pressing cider from their own apple trees, Bev was busy canning their homegrown fruits and vegetables.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her life. Each morning, before her day began, Bev never missed opening her Bible. Known for her community spirit, she baked countless apple pies for the church’s Applefest. For many years, she was a member of Chapel by the Lake in Munsonville, NH, where she was instrumental in coordinating the installation of the steeple in 1995. Bev was a current member of the Stoddard Congregational Church in Stoddard, NH.
Bev’s faith and love for her family were her greatest joy. Known to many as “O’Ma”, she will be missed for her sharp sense of humor, endless creativity, love, and kindness. She cherished holiday celebrations with family, day trips to the beach, shopping in Maine, art class with her best friend Carol, and the warm sunny days of summer.
Beverly will be greatly missed by her husband, Harry, of Stoddard; their three children: daughter Kimberly Reny of Derry, NH; son Matthew Power and his wife, Yvette, of Magnolia, TX; and daughter Deborah Michaud and her husband, Brian, of Stoddard, NH, and niece Shannon Carey of S. Hadley, MA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren—Katelyn DuLong, Sarah Reny, Emily Reny, Graydon Michaud, Meghan Michaud, Ethan Power, Allison Contreras, and great-nephew Joshua Hann—and three great-grandchildren; Alexander Mesa, Cayden DuLong, and Dillon Contreras, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Beverly is predeceased by her parents, Doris and Paul Arrington; her sister, Brenda Arrington; her son-in-law, Michael Reny; and her great-niece, Olivia Hann.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Stoddard Congregational Church on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM, with a reception to follow at Stoddard Town Hall. A private burial will be conducted at Dow Hill Cemetery in Stoddard, NH, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate charitable donations to be sent to: Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W. Swanzey Rd. Swanzey, NH 03446.
