Camille M Parodi

December 17, 1963May 10, 2019

On Friday, May 10, 2019, Camille Kathleen (McCarthy) Parodi, passed away at her home in Keene.

She was born December 17, 1963, in New London, CT., the daughter of Kevin and Jean (Gilbert) McCarthy. She was a 1981 graduate of E. O. Smith High School in Storrs, CT and then went on to earn a degree from Keene State College, graduating in 1985.

After graduating from college she worked for several years as a counselor for Spofford Hall, assisting those who struggled with addiction. Camille’s passion was her children; being a Mom was her greatest accomplishment.

Her heart was full of love and compassion for those around her and also for the many pets that she brought into her home. There was always a special place in her heart for cats. She had a remarkable way of bringing them home and helping them heal from sickness or injury and helping them to trust and know the joy of unconditional love. Her compassion also spread to the numerous youth that she had the honor of knowing through her children. Her home was always a haven and a welcoming place where they could feel the wonder of family.

Growing beautiful flowers was also something that she enjoyed. She could often be found in her gardens; pulling weeds, planting seeds and flourishing if the aroma that they shared with her. Her inner beauty was displayed in everything that she did and in every friendship that she made. She shared her warm smile and bubbly personality with so many.

She is survived by her sons, Connor and Griffin Parodi; her daughter, Emily Parodi; her parents, Kevin and Jean McCarthy; her brother Kevin McCarthy and his wife Andrea; her sister, Jennifer Morgan and her husband Thomas; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members. She is also survived by her ex-husband and the father of her children: Ronald Parodi.

I worked closely with Camille many years ago when we were both in our late teens- early 20s and remember her as a funny, caring, lovely soul. Guess I also carried a bit of a torch for her back then as well so it’s fair to say that she’s often popped into my thoughts down through the years, even if it’s been a good 35-40 years since I last saw her. It saddens me greatly to hear of her passing; this world has lost a light of warmth and kindness and will be much the poorer because if it.
Rest peacefully, Camille.

I will miss Camille's sweet smile. Every time I ran into Camille she always had a positive word of encouragement. Always so full of life, I enjoyed catching up with her at the Keene High School cross country meets . Lifting you all in prayer at this difficult time. With Sympathy, The Derry Family

Camille was a beautiful person- inside and out. My childhood memories are so full of happy times spent together: Mansfield Apartments (crazy fun family parties, tire swings, sledding, riding bikes and starting school for the first day EVER together), Camping in NH (again with the crazy fun), 4H camp- the list is long and happy because of Camille + your family.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Sending much love and light-
