

Francis J.” Frank” Driscoll, Jr. 86, of 470 Court Street, Keene, NH died on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Keene Center – Genesis Healthcare after a period of failing health with his loving family by his side.
Frank was born in Keene, NH on February 23, 1930 the son of Lucille (Larmy) and Francis J Driscoll, Sr.
Frank grew up in Keene, attended Keene schools and was a 1949 graduate of Keene High School. Frank was a member and served honorably with the New Hampshire National Guard and also served with the US Army Reserves for twenty years.
Frank was a member of the Keene Fire Department having joined the Fire Department Auxiliary in 1964. He was assigned a career firefighter on April 4, 1966 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on July 5, 1976; he was promoted to the rank of Captain on December 16, 1979. Frank retired from the fire service on December 29, 1984 with twenty years of service. Prior to his service with the Keene Fire Department, he served as a dispatcher for the Southwestern, NH Fire Mutual Aid System in Keene and was Fire Chief for the Town of Nelson.
He had also worked for the Chabott Coal and Oil Company in Keene. Frank had a passion for driving and was a driver for the Walier Chevrolet Company for several years. He owned his own restaurant in Keene known as the “The Brunch”. He held a pilot’s license and flew his own plane. He was an avid race car enthusiast, Antique, and NASCAR. He loved sports and was a supporter of the Boston Red Sox, The New England Patriots, Boston Celtics, Boston Bruins and the Keene Swampbats. He loved being with his family and in his spare time, he did small engine repairs for families and friends. He enjoyed family camping vacations.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anne M (Ringland ) Driscoll of Keene; seven children; Michael J. Driscoll and his wife Nancy of Hancock, NH, Lucinda M. McKeon and her husband John of Keene, NH, Janette L. Driscoll of Keene, NH, Patricia A. Lewandowski and her husband Richard of Swanzey, NH, Holly E. Lamoureux and her husband Gary of Keene, NH, Peter A. Driscoll and his wife Melissa of Troy, NH, and Jennifer L. Pellerin and her husband Russell of Keene, NH; nine grandchildren; Matthew McKeon and his wife Kristen, Brian Lewandowski, Scott Lewandowski, Daniel Lamoureux, Jonathan Lamoureux, Tyler Lewandowski, Jocelyn Pellerin, Luke Pellerin, and Noah Pellerin; two step-grandchildren; Tony Ellingwood and Ethan Ellingwood and a new five day old Great-Grandson, Finnegan McKeon. He is also survived by one sister, Mary A. Smith and a sister-in-law Caroline E. Driscoll both of Keene many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers; Joseph Driscoll and Lawrence Driscoll, and a sister Linda Driscoll.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene (www.foleyfuneralhome.com) on Sunday, July 24th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at the East Westmoreland Cemetery, Rte. 12, Westmorland, NH on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. Daniel O. Lamothe, former pastor at The Parish of the Holy Spirit will officiate.
