

Carol “Anne” Allen 78, of Bush Street, Marlborough, NH, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 6, 2016, at the Cheshire Medical Center / Dartmouth Hitchcock, Keene, NH, after a period of failing health.
She was born in Marlborough, NH on October 30, 1937, the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Gladys (Deveau) Beauregard. She grew up and attended schools in Marlborough, and was a 1955 graduate of Marlborough High School.
Mrs. Allen worked in the office of the former A.E. Martel Company in Keene. Once becoming a mom, she devoted herself to her family and did not go back to work until they were grown and married. At that point, she went to work at the Knotty Pine Antiques in Swanzey, NH. After semi-retiring, she volunteered for several years at the Cheshire Medical Center (Elliot’s Wish) gift shop.
She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, and gardening, and was a fabulous cook. She enjoyed her daily walks around town. She was a very loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Laurie Anne Race and her husband, Peter, of Swanzey; her son, John A. Allen and his wife, Pam, of Alstead, NH; three grandchildren, Deanna Race and her fiancé, Colby Luopa, of Swanzey, Sarah Reagan and her husband, Brian, of Bedford, NH, John “Trevor” Allen of Alstead; three great-grandchildren, Bryce Reagan, Mya Reagan, Quinn Allen; her brother, Richard Beauregard and his wife, Nancy, and their son, Joe, of Berwick, ME; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John “Dewey” Allen, in 2007, their son, Dustin J. Allen, in 1969, and a brother, Gerald Beauregard who died several years ago.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11:00AM in the Foley Funeral Home, 49 Court Street, Keene. Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Ling Street, Marlborough.
